This scheme is for all categories of beneficiaries. The beneficiary must have a minimum of 1 acre of agricultural land for 5 animals, with land requirements increasing proportionately for more animals. Priority is given to implementation of milk routes.
Plan Unit Cost
- Minimum 5 animals; maximum project limit of ₹10.00 lakhs.
- 75% of cost via bank loan; 25% via margin money and self-contribution.
- Interest reimbursement on the 75% loan portion (up to 5% per annum or max ₹25,000/year) provided for 7 years.
Margin Money Support
- General Category: 25% of project cost (max ₹1.50 lakh).
- SC/ST Category: 33% of project cost (max ₹2.00 lakhs).
Eligibility
- Open to registered cow shelters, NGOs, and individuals.
- Applicable only to indigenous cows recognized by the government.
- Owners/shelters must be registered with the Gau Samvardhan Board.
- Must have dedicated space and facilities for cows.
- Must have an Aadhaar card and a bank account.
Application Process (Offline)
- Approval of beneficiaries in Gram Sabha.
- Approval by Janpad Panchayat.
- Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry sends the case to the bank for final loan approval.
