This scheme supports the management of non-government aided and non-grant-in-aid institutions in Goa for infrastructure maintenance and upgradation. It promotes a conducive atmosphere for higher learning.

Benefits

Loans are facilitated through the EDC and disbursed in three installments:

  • 50% (Initial): Released immediately upon sanction.
  • 40% (Progress): Released after 50% utilization is certified by a Registered Engineer and CA.
  • 10% (Final): Released upon project completion, production of utilization certificate for previous 40%, and issuance of an occupancy certificate.

Eligibility

  • Institutions situated in Goa registered under the Societies Registration Act.
  • In operation for at least 10 years.
  • Minimum strength of 300 students.
  • Average passing percentage not below 60% in the last 3 out of 5 years.
  • Affiliated with Goa University or recognized by AICTE/MCI/DCI, etc.

Preference: Special priority for institutions in less developed talukas (Canacona, Pernem, Sattari, etc.) and older institutions.

Application Process

Offline

  • Step 1-2: Fill the prescribed form and have it signed by the Chairman of the Society.
  • Step 3-4: Submit to the Directorate of Higher Education, SCERT building, Porvorim, and collect an acknowledgment.

Documents Required

  • Approved plan of construction.
  • Cost estimate certified by a Registered Engineer and CA.
  • Latest audited statement of accounts.
  • Proof of land ownership (sale/lease deed).
