The scheme “Promotion of Literature on Art & Culture of Local Authors/ Organization” (formerly referred to in relation to Library awards) is designed to encourage Goan writers to publish literature on local Art and Culture. The Government bears the entire expenditure on printing while keeping the copyright.

Benefits

  • Entire expenditure on printing and publishing is borne by the Government.
  • Approximately 1,000 copies are printed and supplied to educational and cultural institutions.
  • Authors are paid an honorarium.
  • Two or more books are published annually based on funds.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be an author from Goa.
  • Only literature concerning the cultural traditions of Goa is eligible.
  • Exclusion: Authors who have already availed this benefit once cannot apply again.

Application Process

Offline

  • Step 1-2: Visit the Directorate of Art & Culture in Panaji and request the application proforma.
  • Step 3-4: Fill the form, attach documents (self-attested), and submit to the ACO-II, Directorate of Art & Culture.

Documents Required

  • Details of the Author.
  • A handwritten script.
  • Copy of Residence Certificate (15 years or more in Goa).
