The scheme “Konkani Song & Music Awards (Tiatr Kantaram)” was launched by the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to encourage producers, lyricists, singers, and musicians who produce Konkani Audio/Video albums. The scheme provides cash awards ranging from ₹5,000/- to ₹30,000/- across twelve different categories.

  • Child Singer (Male/Female): ₹5,000/-
  • Trio: ₹15,000/-
  • Quartet/Choral Song: ₹20,000/-
  • Best Konkani kantaram audio album of the year: ₹30,000/-

Eligibility

  • Album must be produced between 1st January and 31st December of the identified year.
  • Music director must be Goan or of Goan origin.
  • Singers must be Goans with Konkani as mother tongue.
  • Album must contain only Konkani language songs (no English, Hindi, etc.).
  • Songs must not be remixes of old songs.
  • Album must consist of minimum 8 Konkani kantaram.
  • No adverse remarks against Government/Individuals/Religion in lyrics.
  • Minimum three entries required per category.
  • Child singers must not have completed 16 years of age.

Application Process

Offline

  • Step 1: Print the application form or collect it from the Tiatr Academy of Goa.
  • Step 2: Fill mandatory fields and attach documents.
  • Step 3: Submit to Tiatr Academy of Goa, Panaji.

Selection Process

  • Albums are judged by a Panel of Judges. Decisions are final.

Documents Required

  • Self-Attested Copy of Aadhaar Card and PAN Card.
  • Four Audio Compact Discs.
  • Three Typed Copies of Lyrics (Roman Script) for Best Lyricist consideration.
  • Proof of Album Release Date.
  • For Child Category: Birth/Baptism Certificate and School Certificate.
