Description

The “Gopal Ratna Award Scheme” appreciates achievements in highest milk production to encourage youth to take up scientific dairy farming and make Goa self-sufficient in milk.

Benefits

Certificate of Appreciation, Memento, and a cash prize of ₹1,00,000, conferred on Independence Day (15th August).

Eligibility

  • Must be a dairy farmer and a resident of Goa for at least 5 years.
  • Member of a registered Dairy Co-operative Society/Bachat Gat/SHG.
  • Dairy farm must be registered with the Dept. of Animal Husbandry.
  • Minimum production and pouring of 1,00,000 litres of milk in the preceding year (April-March).
  • Average of 250 litres of milk per day minimum.
  • Not presented posthumously unless death occurs after application and qualification (presented to heir).

Application Process

Offline
Step 1: Obtain proforma from the Area Veterinary Officer.
Step 2: Fill mandatory fields and attach membership and production evidence.
Step 3: Submit to the Area Officer of the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services.

Documents Required

  • Membership evidence of Dairy Society/SHG.
  • Detailed records (number of animals, lactation stage, yield, address).
  • Residential Certificate.
  • Proof of farm registration.
