Description

This scheme by the Department of Animal Husbandry aims to conserve local cattle breeds (including Shwet Kapila) by providing maintenance subsidies to dairy farmers in rural and semi-urban areas.

Benefits

• Financial assistance of ₹80 per animal per day for feed, fodder, and maintenance.
• Microchipping or ear tagging provided free of cost.
• Disbursement made quarterly to the bank account.
• Limited to a maximum of 05 local breed cattle per family.

Eligibility

• Dairy farmer or individual residing in Goa for at least 15 years.
• Must own non-descript or Shwet Kapila cattle.
• Adequate cattle shed (BIS standard) required.
• Applicable in rural areas and Class B/C Municipalities.
• 12% reservation for ST and 2% for SC beneficiaries.

Conditions

• Cattle must be stall-fed and not let loose outside paddock areas.
• Compulsory regular vaccination.
• Cattle must be easily accessible for monthly inspection by Vet officers.

Application Process

Offline
Step 1: Submit filled application and Notarized Agreement Bond to the local Assistant Director or Veterinary Officer.
Step 2: Pay non-refundable processing fee of ₹50.
Step 3: Verification of shed and cattle by officer.
Step 4: Mandatory microchipping/tagging upon approval.

• Residence Certificate and Aadhaar Copy.
• First page of bank passbook.
• Photos of Cattle Shed (Certified by Vet Officer).
• Notarized Agreement Bond and Passport size photo.
