The scheme “Financial Assistance for Purchase of Fuel (Petrol) to the Fishermen for Operation of Out Board Motors” is a scheme by the Department of Fisheries, Government of Goa. It helps traditional fishermen manage operational costs.

Benefits

• Subsidy of ₹ 30 per Litre on a maximum consumption of 1,000 Litres of Petrol.
• For SC/ST: Subsidy of ₹ 30 per Litre on a maximum consumption of 1,100 Litres of Petrol.
• Benefits can be availed every year.

Eligibility

• Traditional fisherman by birth or profession and resident of Goa.
• Canoe must be registered under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958.
• Must be a member of a Registered Fisheries Co-operative Society/Association or an Individual.
• Must not be a defaulter of the Directorate of Fisheries.
• Out Board Motors (OBM) must be 10HP or below and incorporated on the vessel.

Application Process

Offline:

Step 1: Obtain the prescribed application form.

Step 2: Fill the form and attach self-attested documents.

Step 3: Submit to the Department of Fisheries, Panaji, or BDO/Sub-Offices.

Documents Required

• Certificate of Vessel Registration (with OBM incorporated).
• Fishing Vessel License Certificate and Fishing Net License Certificate.
• Caste Certificate (if applicable).
• Aadhaar Card and ECS Mandate Form.
• Self Declaration.
• Original bill (from petrol pump owner).
• Petrol Consumption Passbook.
