“Death Benefit (GBOCWWB)” is a Welfare Scheme by the Goa Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board of the Department of Labour and Employment, Government of Goa. Through this scheme, the nominee/dependant of the deceased worker is provided with financial assistance. The death should have either been natural or caused due to an accident, during the course of employment.

Benefits

  • Natural Death: Financial Assistance of ₹30,000/-.
  • Accidental Death (during employment): Financial Assistance of ₹1,00,000/-.

Eligibility

  • The deceased should have been a Worker aged between 18 to 60 years.
  • The deceased should have completed 90 days of service as a registered worker.
  • The deceased should have been registered with the GBOCWWB.
  • The applicant must be the nominee/dependant.
  • Nominees of unregistered workers are eligible if they provide a certificate from a builder or Inspector stating the deceased was a building worker.

Application Process

Offline

  • Step 1: Download the form from the Department of Labour website or visit the Office of the Commissioner, Patto Plaza, Panaji.
  • Step 2: Fill the form, paste a signed photograph, and attach self-attested documents.
  • Step 3: Submit the form to the Office of the Commissioner, Labour & Employment.
  • Step 4: Obtain an application receipt.

Documents Required

  • Worker Registration Card/Number.
  • Receipt of First & Last Subscription payment.
  • Death Certificate of the Worker.
  • Medical Certificate citing the cause of death (issued by Govt Doctor).
  • Document establishing relationship with the deceased.
  • Certificate from Builder/Inspector (for unregistered workers).
