Launched on 26th Feb 2019, the “Financial Assistance to Women and Girls Acid Attack Victims” scheme provides a monthly pension to women and girls in Haryana who have suffered disfigurement or disability due to an acid attack. The scheme aims to restore the right to live with dignity.

Benefits

The financial assistance is calculated as a multiple of the “Divyang Pension” based on the percentage of disability:

  • 2.5 times the monthly Pension: 40% to 50% disability.
  • 3.5 times the monthly Pension: 51% to 60% disability.
  • 4.5 times the monthly Pension: Greater than 61% disability.

Eligibility

  • Resident of Haryana for at least 3 years since the attack.
  • Must be a woman or girl.
  • Suffered disfigurement or disability from acid or corrosive substances.
  • Attack must have happened on or after 2nd May 2011.

Exclusion

Victims with self-inflicted acid injuries are not eligible.

Application Process

Offline:

Step 01: Visit the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) during office hours to request the application proforma.
Step 02: Fill mandatory fields and attach required documents.
Step 03: Submit the application to the DSWO.
Step 04: Request an acknowledgment receipt.

Note: Applications can be made by parents, legal heirs, or guardians on behalf of victims (minors or those unable to apply themselves).

Documents Required

  • Medical certificate issued by the District Medical Board.
  • Copy of the FIR/Complaint.
  • Copy of application/benefits from the Women & Child Development Department.
