The scheme “Financial Assistance Scheme for Higher Competitive/ Entrance Examination to Scheduled Castes/ Backward Classes Students” was launched by the Department of Welfare of Scheduled Castes & Backward Classes, Government of Haryana. Under the scheme, the state government provides financial assistance to Scheduled Caste and Backward Classes students who are unable to avail of coaching facilities for IAS and other higher services competitive examinations due to financial constraints.

Objectives

  • Enable SC/BC candidates to avail postal/classroom coaching for civil services like IFS, IAS, Allied Services, and other services conducted by UPSC, HPSC, LIC, GIC, RRB, etc.
  • Provide pre-entrance coaching for PMT/PET and interview preparation.
  • Support job-oriented courses in the private sector like IT and Biotechnology.

Benefits

  • Free coaching for IAS and other higher service examinations.
  • Access to classroom or postal coaching in private professional institutions.
  • Coaching for interview and pre-entrance exams (PMT/PET).
  • Benefits can be availed by a candidate up to two times.

Eligibility

  • Domicile of Haryana belonging to Scheduled Caste or Backward Class.
  • Annual income of parents/guardians not exceeding ₹2.50 lakhs.
  • Candidate must possess requisite qualifications for the examination.
  • Maximum of two chances permitted under the scheme.

Note: Candidates must maintain attendance. Absence for more than 5 days at a time or 15 days total may lead to discontinuation of benefits.

Application Process

Offline:

Step 01: The Director, Welfare of SC & BC invites applications from time to time.
Step 02: Download the application form from the Department Website or obtain it from DWO/TWO offices.
Step 03: Fill in necessary details.
Step 04: Submit the filled form with attachments as prescribed in the advertisement at the respective institution.

  • Educational certificates
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Residence proof
  • Income Certificate
  • Caste Certificate
  • Affidavit stating the candidate hasn’t taken benefits more than twice under the scheme.
