About the Scheme

The scheme “State Level Awards for Divyang Persons” is implemented by the Social Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand, to honor the exceptional achievements and contributions of persons with disabilities in various fields. The awards are distributed annually on the occasion of World Disability Day (December 3) to recognize and encourage excellence among persons with disabilities.

Benefits

• Award Details: An amount of ₹8,000/- is given as a cash prize along with a Medal and Certificate of Appreciation.
• Mode of Disbursement: The amount is disbursed through cheque or bank draft at the award ceremony.
• Expected Time: Awarded annually on December 3 (World Disability Day).

Eligibility

• The applicant should be a resident of Uttarakhand.
• The applicant should be a person with a disability.
• The applicant should have verifiable records of achievements or work.
• The applicant should fall into one of the following categories: Differently-abled (Divyang) employee, Outstanding Sportsperson, or Best Self-Employed Service Provider.

Application Process

Offline

Applications are invited through newspapers prior to World Disabled Day (December 3). The applicant must submit the application form to the office of the District Social Welfare Officer along with the disability certificate and details of the special work done by them.

After necessary verification at the district level, and on the recommendation of the Director, Social Welfare, a Screening Committee at the government level finalizes the eligible person in each category.
