The scheme ‘Special Financial Assistance Scheme for Meritorious Students of the State for Preparation of Competitive Examinations’ was launched by the Higher Education Department, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide financial support to meritorious students who have cleared the preliminary examination conducted by the State or Union Public Service Commission for Group ‘A’ and ‘B’ services, or the written examination for the Armed Forces (e.g., NDA, CDS, OTA, Indian Naval Academy, Indian Air Force Academy, etc.).

Benefits

A one-time grant of ₹50,000/- per candidate is provided to eligible candidate.

Eligibility

• The 100 candidates who qualify in the preliminary examination of Group ‘A’ and ‘B’ conducted by the State Public Service Commission.
• The candidates must have passed the preliminary examination for Group ‘A’ or ‘B’, or the written examination for the Armed Forces (NDA, CDS, etc.) conducted by the UPSC.
• The candidate must be a native or permanent resident of Uttarakhand.
• The candidate must have passed Graduate/Postgraduate examinations from recognized institutions in Uttarakhand.
• The total annual family income should not exceed ₹5 lakh.
• The candidate should not have availed the benefit of any other equivalent scheme.
• Candidates or spouses engaged in any job/business/profession are not eligible.

Application Process

Offline

Within three months of results declaration, applicants must download the application form from https://he.uk.gov.in/ and attach required documents. The completed form must be submitted to the Directorate of Higher Education, Haldwani. After scrutiny, a committee approves the release of ₹50,000. Benefit is provided to the first 100 UKPSC candidates and all eligible UPSC/Armed Forces candidates.
