The scheme “Sakhi Niwas – Working Women’s Hostel” is implemented by the Department of Women Empowerment & Child Development, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide hostel facilities for women with higher education or professional training, as well as working women, to stay in urban areas.

Benefits

Under this scheme, hostels have been arranged for women to stay in urban areas by paying a nominal fee. Facilities include: Accommodation, Mess, Library, Gym, TV Hall, Creche, and more.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
• The applicant must be a woman pursuing higher education or professional training, or a working woman.

Application Process

Offline: At present, hostel facilities are operational in the districts of Dehradun, Haridwar, and Udham Singh Nagar. Applicants need to visit the hostel, submit a form along with their Aadhaar card and family details, and pay the required fees to stay in the hostel.
