The scheme “Organising Sports Competitions and Training Camps” was launched by the Department of Sports, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote sports at the grassroots and state levels by providing structured training, organizing competitions, and developing sporting talent.

Benefits

  • Local training camps are conducted in all districts for sports like football, athletics, boxing, volleyball, hockey, cricket, wrestling, karate, kabaddi, and many more at minimal fees.
  • Admission to Sports Colleges and Sports Hostels is provided at minimal fees.
  • Prizes for State-level competitions: ₹500/- for 1st position and ₹300/- for 3rd position.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
  • General players: aged 8 to 16 years.
  • Amateur players: above 16 years of age.

Application Process

Offline:

  • Notice for district-level camps is published in newspapers in March.
  • Applications must be submitted to the District Sports Officer’s office. Selection trials are held in April and May.
  • For Sports Colleges/Hostels, preliminary trials occur at the district level followed by state-level final trials.
  • Direct paid admission is available for certain district training camps and amateur players.

  • Other relevant sports certificates or documents as required.
