The scheme “Mukhyamantri Medhavi Chhatra Protsahan Scholarship Scheme (Junior Level)” is implemented by the Secondary Education Department under the Department of Education, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote academic excellence among students entering Classes 6, 7, and 8 by providing financial assistance to meritorious students based on a competitive examination conducted by SCERT, Uttarakhand.
Benefits
Rate of Scholarship:
- For Class 6th Students: ₹600/- per month for 1 year.
- For Class 7th Students: ₹700/- per month for 1 year.
- For Class 8th Students: ₹800/- per month for 1 year.
Eligibility
- The student must have passed Class 5 from a Government or Government-aided school in Uttarakhand and be studying in Class 6.
- The applicant must qualify in the SCERT competitive examination and secure a position in the top 10% of participants.
- Selected students must maintain 75% attendance and 60% marks (SC/ST students get 5% relaxation).
- No income criterion applies.
- Double benefits from other state scholarship schemes are not allowed.
Application Process
Offline
- Forms can be collected from the Block Education Officer’s office or downloaded from https://schooleducation.uk.gov.in or https://scert.uk.gov.in/ during June-July.
- Attach photo, Aadhaar, Class 5 certificate, Class 6 admission card, and bank details.
- Submit to the School Principal. Forms are verified and forwarded to the Block Education Officer by August 21st.
- The objective-type examination is held in September. Results are shared by the Principal, and scholarship is credited via DBT.
