The scheme “Mukhyamantri Alpasankhyak Protsahan Yojana” was launched by the Minority Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to encourage and support candidates from the minority community of Uttarakhand by providing financial incentives for the preparation of competitive examinations. These incentives are given at various stages of success in examinations conducted by bodies such as the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) (including combined competitive and higher judicial services exams), as well as entrance examinations for national-level institutions like IITs and IIMs.

Benefits

The following incentives are provided to candidates from the minority community for their preparation:

  • For the All India Civil Services Examination (UPSC):
    • ₹75,000/- after passing the Preliminary Examination and applying for the Main Examination.
    • ₹25,000/- for interview preparation after passing the Main Examination.
  • For Uttarakhand State and Subordinate Services (UKPSC):
    • ₹60,000/- after passing the Preliminary Examination and applying for the Main Examination.
    • ₹20,000/- for interview preparation after passing the Main Examination.
  • For admission to national-level institutes:
    • Group A: Admission to IITs and IIMs – ₹60,000/- after clearing the entrance examination and securing admission.
    • Group B: Admission to AIIMS, IISc Bangalore, IISER (Kolkata & Bangalore), MCI recognized medical colleges, NITs, National Law Universities, and through CLAT – ₹50,000/- after passing the entrance examination and securing admission.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Uttarakhand.
  • The applicant must belong to a minority community (Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Parsi, Buddhist, or Jain).
  • The applicant must have successfully cleared either the Preliminary or Main Examination stage of UPSC, UKPSC, or the entrance examination of a national-level institution.
  • The annual income of the applicant’s parents/guardians must not exceed ₹4.50 lakh.
  • The grant amount will be released only after the candidate submits the admit card of the relevant examination and the original application form/certificate of success.

Application Process

Offline

  • Applicants can obtain the application form from the Directorate or the District Minority Welfare Office, or they may download it from the website: https://minoritywelfare.uk.gov.in/.
  • The application must be submitted within thirty days of clearing the examinations or securing admission.
  • The application form must be accompanied by a recent passport-size photograph, educational qualification certificates, minority community certificate, permanent residence certificate, income certificate, admit card, proof of success, Aadhaar-linked bank details, Aadhaar card, and an affidavit.
  • The affidavit must declare that the benefit has not been availed earlier in the current financial year, specify the attempt number, and state whether the applicant is in government service.
  • Completed forms must be submitted to the District Minority Welfare Officer’s office within one month of the result declaration.
  • If a candidate qualifies in two or more examinations in the same financial year, benefits will be provided under only one scheme, depending on the option exercised by the candidate.
