The “Immunization Programme” is an initiative under the National Health Mission (NHM) implemented by the Department of Medical Health and Family Welfare, Government of Uttarakhand. This initiative aims to protect every child from preventable, life-threatening diseases by providing free and timely vaccination as per the National Immunization Schedule.

Benefits

Free vaccinations are provided under the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) as per the schedule below:

  • BCG: 1 dose at birth (up to one year).
  • OPV: 5 doses at birth, 6, 10, 14 weeks & 16-23 months.
  • FIPV: 3 doses at 6, 14 weeks & 9 months.
  • Hepatitis-B: 1 dose at birth.
  • Pentavalent: 3 doses at 6, 10, 14 weeks.
  • RVV/PCV: 3 doses each at 6, 10, 14 weeks.
  • MR: 2 doses at 9 months & 16-23 months.
  • JE: 2 doses at 9 months & 16-23 months (endemic districts).
  • DPT: 2 doses at 16-23 months & 5-6 years.
  • Td: 2 doses at 10 and 16 years.

Eligibility

All children of Uttarakhand aged 0–16 years who require vaccination are eligible.

Application Process

Offline

Facility available at government health institutions (health centres, sub-centres, urban health centres). Registration requires the child to be taken to a government hospital with a birth certificate or ANM-issued card.

Documents Required

  • Child’s Birth Certificate
  • Card issued by the ANM
