The scheme “Eja-Boi Shagun Yojana” was launched by the Department of Medical Health and Family Welfare, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote the safe health and well-being of mothers and newborns by encouraging institutional deliveries and ensuring that mothers stay in government hospitals for at least 48 hours after childbirth.
For ensuring the safe health of both mother and child, an incentive amount of ₹2000/- is provided to all eligible mothers who stay in the government hospital for at least 48 hours after delivery.

After the delivery of a pregnant woman in a government hospital, the concerned hospital collects her Aadhaar card and bank account details and initiates the process for transferring the incentive amount of ₹2000/-, which is later credited directly to the woman’s bank account.
