The “Medical Assistance” is a Welfare Scheme by the Puducherry Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Labour Department, Union Territory of Puducherry. Through this scheme, the Board may sanction financial assistance to the Construction Workers who are hospitalized for five or more days due to an accident or any disease. The financial assistance shall be ₹500/- for the first 5 days and ₹50/- each for the remaining days, subject to a maximum of ₹1,500/-.

Benefits

Financial Assistance of ₹500/- for initial minimum period of 5 days and thereafter ₹50/- per day upto maximum of ₹1500/- per month, credited within 15 days through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be a citizen of India.
  • The applicant should be registered as a Construction Worker with the Puducherry Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
  • The applicant should have completed the age of 18 years.
  • The applicant should not have completed the age of 60 years.
  • The beneficiary should be contributing to the Board’s Fund and not have defaulted for more than one year.
  • The applicant should have been hospitalized for five or more days due to an accident or any disease.

Application Process

Offline

Registration: Involves visiting the Board office, submitting form with documents, verification, and enrollment upon payment of fees.

Application for Benefits:
Step 1: Obtain the prescribed application form from the Board office or Citizen’s Charter.
Step 2: Fill mandatory fields and attach documents.
Step 3: Submit and request a receipt.
NOTE: The application should be submitted within one year from the date of discharge.

Documents Required

For Registration: Age proof, Experience certificate, Worksite details, Blood group proof, Photos, Ration/Aadhaar/Bank cards, Family particulars.

For Application: Last Subscription Bill, Board ID card, Aadhaar Card, Bank Passbook, Medical Certificate (RMO), Prescription Slip/Treatment Card, Discharge Slip.
