The “Leather Training Scheme” was started by the Department of Industries, Government of Rajasthan in 1990. It aims to promote the leather industry, improve quality, and generate self-employment through training in latest techniques for leather dyeing, Nagara Jooti, leather goods, and leather toys.
Benefits
- Skill Training: 2 months of modern technical training.
- Batch Sizes: 15 trainees for leather dyeing/Nagara Jooti; 20 trainees for leather goods/toys.
- Stipend: Each trainee receives ₹500/- per month during the training.
- Tool Kits: Free tool kits worth up to ₹1,000/- provided after successful completion.
Eligibility
- Native of Rajasthan.
- Age between 18 to 35 years (up to 10 years relaxation possible on a case-by-case basis).
- Category: SC, ST, OBC, or General.
- Must be literate; preference is given to those who passed 8th standard or higher.
Application Process (Offline)
- Write an application on plain paper with complete personal details.
- Attach self-attested copies of mandatory documents.
- Submit the application to the General Manager of the concerned District Industries and Commerce Centre (DIC).
- Request a receipt or acknowledgment with the date, time, and unique ID.
