The “Rashtriya Khadya Suraksha Yojana” (National Food Security Act) was started on 02-10-2013 by the Food and Civil Supplies Department of Rajasthan. The scheme aims to provide adequate quality food grains at reasonable prices to ensure a dignified life. It covers 75% of the rural population and 50% of the urban population under the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS).
Benefits
- Antyodaya Families: 35 kg of wheat per family per month.
- BPL and Antyodaya Ration Card Holders: Wheat at a subsidized rate of ₹1 per kg.
- Other Eligible Beneficiaries (Priority Households): 5 kg of wheat per unit per month at ₹2 per kg.
Eligibility
- The applicant should be a native of Rajasthan.
- The applicant should belong to Antyodaya, BPL families, or Annapurna categories.
- The applicant must have a valid ration card.
Application Process (Offline)
- Step-1: Download the application form (available on page 4 of the linked document) or obtain it from the department.
- Step-2: Read instructions carefully.
- Step-3: Collect documents: Ration Card, Aadhaar Card, Bhamashah Card, Caste Certificate, BPL Card, and Affidavit.
- Step-4: Complete the form and make a copy for records.
- Step-5: Submit the form to the concerned Appellate Officer (Sub Division/District Logistics Officer).
- Step-6: The officer scrutinizes the application and, if verified, adds the name to the food security list.
- Step-7: An appeal order with a digitized signature is issued, updating the online list.
