The scheme “Financial Assistance to Indigent Artistes” was launched by the Arts and Culture Department, Puducherry, to support artists in music, dance, drama, folk arts, painting, and sculpture who are in financial need.

Benefits

• Financial Assistance of ₹1,000/- per month.

Eligibility

• Applicant must be an indigent artist aged 50 years and above.
• Annual income must be less than ₹24,000/-.
• Must be a resident of Puducherry by birth or domicile.
• Must not be receiving other assistance. Wife/children eligible after the artist’s death.

Application Process

Offline

• Step 1: Obtain the form from the Department of Art and Culture.
• Step 2: Fill and attach self-attested documents.
• Step 3: Submit to the Superintendent, Department of Art and Culture, 1, Romain Rolland Street, Puducherry.
• Step 4: Collect a receipt with a unique identification number.

• Identity Proof and Proof of Age.
• Domicile Certificate.
