The Government of Puducherry introduced the Scheme Development Of Industries-Training Scheme to enable youth to start their own ventures or get employment by sponsoring them for short-term trades. Training is provided for one year with a stipend.

Benefits

Stipend for Trainees (Monthly):

• SSLC/ITI/H.S.C.: Rs. 1,500/-
• Graduate in Arts and Science / Diploma in Engineering: Rs. 2,500/-
• Degree in Engineering & PG: Rs. 3,000/-

To Training Institutions: Rs. 300/- per trainee per month for raw material wastage.

Eligibility

• Should be a native of Puducherry UT or have continuous residence of 3 years.
• Already trained candidates in various Govt. Schemes are not eligible.

Application Process

Offline

Step 1: Apply in the prescribed form to the General Manager, District Industries Centre, Pondicherry-9 when advertised.

Step 2: Request a hard copy proforma from the DIC office.

Step 3: Attach certificates regarding financial position, age, or a notarized affidavit.

Step 4: Submit the application and documents to the General Manager, DIC, Pondicherry.

Documents Required

• Residence Proof (Native/3-year resident).
• Educational Certificates (SSLC, etc.).
• Age Proof / Income Proof.
