The Arts and Culture Department of Puducherry launched the “Awarding of Tamil Mamani, Telugu Ratna and Malayala Ratna” scheme to recognize distinguished authors and writers.

Benefits

• Cash Award: ₹75,000/- per recipient.
• Slots: Tamil Mamani (6), Malayala Ratna (4), Telugu Ratna (4).

Eligibility

• The applicant should be an author/writer aged 60 years or above.
• Must have published books of high repute (poetry, prose, research) in the respective languages.
• Active participation in literary and research activities.
• Must not have received similar awards from other Governments or Universities.
• Native of Puducherry or resident for 5 continuous years.

Application Process

Offline

• Step 1: Visit the Department of Art and Culture (No.1, Roman Roland Road) to get the application form or download it online.
• Step 2: Fill in mandatory fields and attach required documents.
• Step 3: Submit the application to the Superintendent, Department of Art and Culture, Puducherry.
• Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgment with a unique identification number.

Documents Required

• Passport-size Photograph.
• Birth Certificate.
• Residence Certificate (issued by Revenue Authorities).
• Any other documents supporting literary contributions.
