The scheme “Award of Cash Incentive to the Toppers at Regional Level and Students Scoring Centum in the Subjects Involving Theory in Secondary School Leaving Certificate/Secondary School Certificate/Intermediate/Higher Secondary Public Examinations in Government Schools in the Union Territory of Puducherry” was launched by the Department of School Education, Puducherry.

Benefits

• For Regional Toppers: 1st Rank: ₹20,000/-; 2nd Rank: ₹15,000/-; 3rd Rank: ₹10,000/-.
• For Centum Scorers: ₹5,000/- per subject for scoring centum in theory subjects.
• Mode of Disbursement: The award will be given through Direct Benefit Transfer or by Demand Draft.
• Tie-Breaker: If multiple students get equal marks, each receives the full prize amount.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a citizen of India.
• The applicant must be a resident of the Union territory of Puducherry (birth or 5 years residence).
• The applicant must be a student in Government Schools appearing in SSLC/SSC/Intermediate/Higher Secondary Public Examinations.
• The applicant must have passed the qualifying examination in the first attempt.

Application Process

Offline (Internal Selection)

• Step 1: Preparation of the List – The Directorate of School Education, Puducherry, prepares the initial list based on examination results published by the Board.
• Step 2: Final Determination – Disputes are referred to the Secretary to Government (Education), whose decision is final.
• Disbursement: Awards are finalized annually and disbursed via DBT or Demand Draft.

• Proof of Citizenship of India.
• Proof of Residence in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
• SSLC/SSC/Intermediate/Higher Secondary Public Examination Mark Sheet.
• Proof of Enrollment in a Government School.

Award of Opportunity Cost to Parents of Scheduled Caste Girl Students
