The scheme “Pre Matric Scholarship for Students Belonging to the Scheduled Caste Community” was launched by the Mizoram Scholarship Board, Government of Mizoram. The scheme aims to support parents from the Scheduled Caste community in the education of their children studying in classes 9th and 10th so that the incidence of drop-out, especially in the transition from the elementary to the secondary stage, is minimized. The scheme also aims to improve participation these children in the pre-matric stage of education so that they perform better and have a better chance of progressing to the post-matric stage of education.

Benefits

Financial assistance is provided to the students.

*The scheme is funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Government of Mizoram in 90:10 ratio.

Eligibility

The applicant must be permanently settled in Mizoram.

The applicant must belong to Scheduled Caste.

The income of the parents/guardians of the applicant (from all sources) should not exceed 竄ｹ2,50,000/- per annum.

The applicant must be studying either in 9th or 10th standard.

Application Process

Offline

Normally application is open during July- September through offline where application form is available in Mizoram Scholarship Board during Office working hours.

Application Form duly filled-in along with documents mentioned above must be submitted to the following address –

Documents Required

Aadhaar Card.

Bank Account (self-account).

Income certificate issued by competent authority (up to date).

Previous year mark sheet.

Permanent Residential Certificate (up to date).

Scheduled Caste Certificate.
